We work in Dekpor, Ghana where all residents live below the poverty level and face a daily struggle to survive.

Our areas of focus:

One of our directors lives in Dekpor — we are able to work with the residents of Dekpor to best service their needs. Our overhead is minimal (our only expenses are maintaining our domain status, annual financial statements, and foreign exchange costs), so your donation goes exactly where you allocate it! We are volunteers who work hard to make the most of every dollar donated.

Dekpor School Development Organisation is a registered Canadian charity and recognized NGO in Ghana. (Since 2011)

July 11, 2024

Loud shouts of gratitude for woman-power!  Here you see Natalie and her daughters, Sam and Rachel. The girls showed up with their muscles to help load the vehicle, and then Natalie and Carol made the trip to the shipper.  This collection likely would have been 4 trips in Carol's van, so being able to deliver it all in one shot was a huge gift! Thank you to Lori Pedersen Home, a local Aurora design and home staging company, for allowing us to use the company vehicle! Incredibly grateful to the Cameron family!

Yehaw! Another huge shipment has left Aurora! This is 40 items: 8 shipping bags, 27 suitcases, 2 desks, and 3 bikes. A warm thank you to the many people who gave so generously!

There are several repairs that require masonry work...they are being tackled right now.

The March shipment got a wee bit delayed, but early this morning, Patrick and Godsway travelled to Accra to pick it up. Check the Project Shipping album for photos of the distribution. (sewing machines, drawstring bags, instruments, linens)

On the 8th, the shipments from early April were picked up in Accra.  Today, the distribution started at the school. Please look at our Shipping Project Page to look at all the smiles! So many generous people gave! Thank you!
